DAN + JENNIFER

Dan and Jennifer’s engagement photoshoot was a whole vibe and then some! We mean it when we say that we work with the best couples. On the drive home after a photoshoot, Logan and I always chat about the shoot. We call it our debriefing time where we discuss what things we loved throughout the shoot and what we thought we could’ve done better or what we forgot to do but wish we did. We often talk about how much we loved our clients and how they felt like friends. That’s exactly how we’d describe Dan and Jenn, newfound friends.

When these two first inquired with us, Jenn had wrote that we were the ones they wanted before we ever even chatted or they saw our pricing and packages. They knew right off the bat that we were the photographers for them which is one of the highest compliments you can give photographers. They had mentioned wanting a mix of candid moments with some editorial ones and then also one fun, silly moments. Needless to say, we did it.

We started off their engagement session by exploring Downtown Pensacola. We found a cute balcony area at this one shop called Bodacious. Their balcony was full of some stunning white florals which was super cute for some photos! We then found a parking garage and went to the top where to popped some champagne. This part of the session was so fun because Jenn and Dan just kept cracking jokes. Lots of giggles during this section! We continued to explore Downtown Pensacola where we came across this cute little alley way. Dan stole some kisses from Jenn under a lamplight and we chilled on a bench for a little while before we headed over to Pensacola Beach for the second part of their session. We always recommend doing two locations for an engagement photoshoot because then it feels like you’re doing two sessions and getting more photos. That, and if you have two different vibes in mind then it’s perfect.

When we arrived to the beach we noticed that the weather was starting to get a little wonky. Clouds were starting to roll in and the sky was slowly becoming gray. Knowing how crazy Florida can be, we jumped right into it and enjoyed the little amount of sunshine that was left! Logan and I found a spot years ago that leads up to this gorgeous lookout surrounded by greenery. We started at this spot and grabbed some sweet moments before Jenn and Dan decided that they wanted a few personality photos. They had recently learned a neat party trick where they hold onto each other and Jenn is able to lift Dan up. It’s one of our favorite photos from the bunch!

We then headed down to the ocean where Dan and Jenn killed one of our favorite prompts: the drunk walk. Prompts are a great way of being hands off but also guiding your clients a bit. With this prompt, we tell the couple to wrap their arms around one another and walk like they just drank a bunch of beers and now have to walk back home. This prompt often involves bumping into each other and lots of laughs which was exactly what we got from Jenn and Dan. They even said that it was their favorite part of the photoshoot. They loved it!

We ended the photoshoot by hoping in the water for a few. Both of them weren’t planning on getting into the water until they decided to say screw it! We got some wet, romantic photos and called it a wrap.
