Editorial Engagement Photoshoot at Mobile, AL
JOSHUA + VICTORIA
This engagement photoshoot was so much fun for several reasons but let’s start things off with a little backstory. Last December Logan and I got to photograph one of our friends’ weddings. While we didn’t know it at the time, that specific wedding would lead us to booking Joshua and Victoria. They had reached out to us shortly after we posted photos from that wedding and started off the conversation by mentioning that they were friends with that couple and absolutely loved the photos as well as how much our past couple raved about us. We love when our clients rave about us and leave reviews because it’s the easiest way to connect with other clients. We set up a consult call with Victoria and Joshua to see if we’d be a good match and needless to say, the vibes were vibing. They are getting married in New Orleans next May and we’ve already been chatting a lot about their day. Now let’s get into the engagement photos!
Our original plan was to go to New Orleans’ Art Museum and take photos there only to find out that you can’t go inside to take photos so we came up with a different plan. With Victoria and Joshua being local to Mobile, we decided to venture around the area for the evening. We started off at the History Museum of Mobile where they have the most stunning checkered floor and a gorgeous stairwell. It wasn’t smooth sailing getting inside though because parking was a bit slim and it was pouring outside. We were all soaking wet by the time we made it into the museum. Rain didn’t deter our plans though. We roamed throughout the museum and had a blast getting some fun flash photos that have a very romantic, editorial vibe. However, we were missing those fun and flirty photos so we thought… why not go outside and just have some fun in the rain? When we went outside, the rain calmed down a bit so we just kicked off our shoes and ran around Downtown Mobile. There is this beautiful green lawn in front of the museum so we took some photos there and got wet again. When we wrapped up the photoshoot, Victoria and Joshua invited us to grab a drink with them at their favorite spot in town, The Haberdasher.
Logan and I constantly tell our clients that we’re big on connection and we truly mean it. We don’t consider ourselves to be your typical vendor, we want to reach a place with you where you feel seen, heard, and understood. You deserve photographers who truly care about you! Kid you not, we were there for two hours just talking and getting to know each other a bit more. We talked about school, childhood, our families, their wedding, our love stories, lots about books, and Harry Potter of course! It was so much fun and we left feeling a lot closer to them. It honestly felt like we were catching up with some old friends of ours.
