Winter Couples Photoshoot at Eden Gardens in 30A, Florida

Evan + Katherine

There's something magical about capturing love stories, but when it's a couple close to your heart, it feels even more special. Evan and Katherine, dear friends of mine, recently celebrated being back together with a beautiful winter session at Eden Gardens State Park. Evan is in the marines and was away for a bit so when they reunited, Katherine thought what better way to celebrate than with a photoshoot?! Eden Gardens State Park, nestled in the heart of 30A, Florida, offers the perfect backdrop for any photoshoot, even in the winter months. The towering oak trees draped in Spanish moss, the charming Wesley House, and the serene gardens create an enchanting, timeless setting.

Evan and Katherine’s session was a beautiful blend of playful energy and tender affection. We started with some posed photos in the parking lot with Kat’s Uncle’s car. It’s what you say is “an oldie but a goldie.” We might have had some problems starting the car up, but that’s a story for another time. Katherine brought two different pair of cowgirl boots because she couldn’t choose between the two so we made sure to get photos of both. We then went to the gardens where we gave them some adventurous prompts, encouraging them to dance under the moss-covered oaks, run hand-in-hand through the open fields, and crack some jokes with one another. Their chemistry is undeniable, and their laughter echoed through the park, making every shot feel vibrant and full of life.

But it wasn’t all playful moments—we also captured those quiet, intimate glances that speak volumes. As the sun dipped lower, casting a golden glow over the park, Evan gently held Katherine close, their foreheads touching, lost in their own world. These sweet, romantic moments are the heart of what we love to capture—authentic, unfiltered love.

One of my favorite moments was when I gave them the prompt to “Run towards each other like you haven’t seen one another in years. Pick Katherine up and spin her around.” Let’s just say that I warned them we would maybe have to do it more than once and not because we couldn’t get the photos, but because it might be hard to nail the first time around. I was right because Katherine and Evan clashed and they almost fell down, but it made for the cutest laughing photos.
