Wedding at Hatcher Farms in Mobile, AL

KAITLYN + RYAN

Kaitlyn and Ryan celebrated their wedding day at Hatcher Farms in Mobile, Alabama this past May and it was such a stunning day! What drew Kaitlyn and Ryan to this venue was the variations it offered. They have several different sites for the ceremony including this cute little chapel that’s right in front of a lily pond.

While the wedding day is sometimes the first time we meet our couples, this wasn't the case with Kaitlyn and Ryan. We had their consult call months prior and had communicated all the way up to their wedding. We also did their graduation photos prior to their wedding day. We always encourage our couples to get photos done with us prior to their wedding because it helps us get to know one another more and build that connection. That, and it also gives you a chance to see how we do things. Needless to say, we already felt like friends on their wedding day so we didn't have to worry about any awkwardness or anything like that.

We started off the day by capturing some details and grabbing some last minute getting ready photos. While I hung out with the girls in the bridal suite, Logan was with the guys grabbing some photos of them outside before we swapped. Kaitlyn had told us ahead of time that she planned on having some fun flowers and she wasn’t joking. They perfectly encapsulated that whimsical, wildflower vibe she was going for. Shoutout to the talented Tyler Matthews Creations for those. We work with a lot of different vendors but we can without a doubt say that Tyler kills it every single time!

Kaitlyn and Ryan did a first look that was so sweet. The best way I can describe this first look is by bringing up the meme, “The woman was too stunned to speak,” Except in this instance, Ryan was the one too stunned. We took some couples portraits after their first look and before we knew it, it was time to line up for the ceremony. One of our favorite moments from their day was during their ceremony. Ryan’s sister cried as she watched Ryan walk down the aisle, overjoyed for him to be marrying the love of his life. After the ceremony, we took some newlywed portraits before heading into the reception.

Kaitlyn and Ryan are what we’d describe as the life of the party. They danced the night away and when we sent them their gallery, Kaitlyn said that the faces we caught of her one the dance floor had her cracking up. We ended the night by grabbing some photos of them next to a neon sign with their last name and took a picture together. We always try taking a photo with our couples as a fun little keepsake for us. The Mitchells’ wedding was one for the books!
