KAI + LANDON

If you read our blogs then you might recognize these two! Kai and Landon are what we like to call loyal customers. We started doing photoshoots with Kai back in 2020. She’s an amazing artist and owns her own pottery business. We’ve done branding and creative photoshoots with her before. We also did a couples shoot for them a couple years back at Pensacola Beach. Have you ever seen the photoshoots where people lay on a mattress in the water? Well that’s what we did. Here’s the blog post on it if you want to see it. Getting to reunite and create together again was so much fun!

With Kai being into pottery, they thought that a photoshoot of them making pottery would be super fun and a great way of showing their love through photographs. Kai and Landon are not only sweethearts but they’re also super giggly which always makes for cute photos. Kind you not, we laughed 75% of the photoshoot. There was an intimacy and authenticity to Kai and Landon's interactions that made our job as photographers easy.

The pottery studio provided a picturesque backdrop for our photoshoot. We planned our shoot around golden hour so the light streamed through the windows, casting a warm glow on the clay-covered surfaces. Kai let Landon have a go on the wheel but we quickly learned that while he loves pottery, he’s not the best at it so we switched off and had Kai take over. Landon was her ever-supportive partner, lending a helping hand whenever needed and cheering her on along the way.

The best part about this photoshoot was that it was one of our bucket list shoots! Nine times out of ten if you ask a photographer if they have any dream sessions, they’ll be able to give you a list. Getting to cross this one off was bittersweet. A lot of anticipation and time goes into visualizing photoshoots. Being able to see them executed and to see your creation is so special. We really loved this session and can’t wait to shoot with Kai and Landon again and also cross more dream shoots off of our list.
